It was a fantastic summer session in the garden. We would like to thank all the children and parents who helped make the garden a fun time while having a great learning experience in the garden.

That's right !!! We had a strawberry rhubarb pie tonight. Made with fresh ingredients right from Middleton's Gilbert Garden.
The garden has been doing spectacularly with all the rain this year. We invite everyone to come out to the next event on Tuesday, July 21st to help harvest in the garden and allow the students/parents to get excited about gardening. We have started our summer gardening. Please feel free to stop by Middleton Elementary School to join in the fun as we plant, tend to, and harvest the crops. You can eMail [email protected] to find out dates/times we will be there. Typically on Wednesday nights...
Happy Spring!
I am so excited to meet up again this summer to work in the Gllbert Garden together. In the past we have gathered once a week to water, plant, weed, harvest, and enjoy some vegetables and fruits! Please let me know which days of the week you would prefer to meet. I am thinking we could meet between either 4-5pm (but this may not be possible with some work schedules) or 6:30-7:30pm. Let me know what time you prefer. Also, if your family is interested in signing up to tend to the garden outside of our weekly garden club, please let me know. Thank you all so much! Best, Jennifer Gregg Hi Everyone,
It is hard to believe that winter is upon us! If you are able, please join us to "Winterize" the garden this Saturday from 10-12. We will plan to cut out all the veggies, spread our compost, and perhaps lay down some leaves in the beds. If you have garden clippers, can you please bring them with you. I hope to see you on Saturday! Jennifer Gregg, LCSW, ATR Social Worker John Middleton Elementary School District #73.5 |
"As a child, one has that magical capacity to move among the many eras of the earth; to see the land as an animal does; to experience the sky from the perspective of a flower or a bee; to feel the earth quiver and breathe beneath us; to know a hundred different smells of mud and listen unself- consciously to the soughing of the trees." eMail us your comments or photos of the garden, so that we can share them with everyone.
